DSU Standard 1#  Candidates understand the central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of the content/subject matter/disciplines they teach and are able to create learning experiences that make these aspects meaningful for learners.

DECA Standards:  Development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes in teacher candidates: (2) Integrating pedagogical studies with knowledge of a specific discipline to create meaningful learning experiences.

NASPE Standard 1#  The teacher understands physical education content, disciplinary concepts and tools of inquiry related to the development of a physically educated person.
